ACTIVITY WEEK 5

In week 5, we were discussing Chapter 3, Managing the Information Systems Project. In this chapter, student learn about skills required to be an effective project manager, describe skills and activities of a project manager during project initiation, planning, execution and closedown. It also includes, discuss critical path scheduling, explain Gantt Charts and Network Diagrams, Review commercial project management software packages.

Project Management Process is a planned undertaking of related activites to reach an objective that has a beginning and an end. There are four phases in Project Management Process :
-          Initiating
-          Planning
-          Executing
-          Closing down

Gantt Charts is useful for depicting simple projects or parts of large projects. It show start and completion dates for individual tasks. While Network Diagrams is used to show order of activites.

In Commercial Project Management Software, there are many systems are available. Three activities are required in Commercial Project Management Software :
-          Establish project start or end date
-          Enter tasks and assign task relationships
-          Select scheduling method to review project reports
